Illustrated Glossary of Organic Chemistry

Unsaturated: A molecule having one or more pi bonds. Often refers to carbon-carbon pi bonds, but can include other pi bonds as well.


Cyclohexene has a pi bond; it is unsaturated.		Cyclohexane has no pi bonds; it is saturated.
