p_z orbital: A p atomic orbital which lies along the Cartesian coordinate z-axis.

The p_x, p_y, and p_z atomic orbitals of a nonhybridized carbon atom lie along the Cartesian coordinate x-, y-, and z-axes. The p_z atomic orbital is shown in black. These p atomic orbitals are orthogonal.
