Decalin: A bicyclic hydrocarbon consisting of two fused cyclohexane rings. IUPAC name bicyclo[4.4.0]decane. Also called decahydronaphthalene. Sometimes employed as a high boiling point nonpolar solvent (trans isomer bp = 187 oC; ε ~ 2).
